Course Description
The Occupational Health and Safety Online program is designed to prepare you for employment in a wide variety of work environments from private, public and government to healthcare industries. You will gain the skills necessary to protect the physical and mental wellbeing of people in the workplace and drive, implement and manage health and safety initiatives to prevent work-related accidents, injuries and fatalities.
You’ll develop your ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management to ensure willing compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations. Your role will contribute to the fundamental success of any organization. The Occupational Health and Safety Online program is approved by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP).
Students learn remotely and are not required to come to campus. The OHS program is designed to be delivered in an online format where 20 percent of the course will be synchronous, which provides you scheduled online class time with your instructor and 80 percent of the time will be asynchronous, which means no scheduled class time and learning is independent.
