
Course Description
As a Medical Office Administrator, you are trained to perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties in doctor’s offices, hospitals, medical clinics and other medical settings. Given the nature of this work, Medical Office Administrators are required to be detail oriented, and to have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and to be friendly and
welcoming. You will schedule appointments, organize and maintain patient files and appropriately manage information using the telephone, email, and the postal service. You will also be introduced to the hospital setting, departments, and admissions processes.100 hours
MODULES
- Patient management will include gaining patient cooperation using a variety of
techniques used in the exposing of films intra and extra orally.- Students will learn how to expose and process films.
- Students are expected to correctly mount radiographs using anatomical landmarks.
- Quality assurance and the As Low as Responsibly Acceptable
(A.L.A.R.A.) principle are also addressed.- Federal and provincial regulations dealing with radiation are addressed throughout
the program.
