
Course Description
Course outline: The Cabinetry and Furniture Technician Program equips students with the skills needed to succeed in the cabinetry, carpentry, and restoration industries. The program emphasizes essential workplace competencies such as decision-making, job organization, task planning, project management, problem-solving, and teamwork. Students receive training in business skills to effectively work with clients and manage projects professionally. The program also develops design skills using AutoCAD, enabling students to create accurate and functional designs. Learners gain hands-on expertise in cabinetry and furniture construction, focusing on industry-standard techniques and materials. In addition, students are trained in furniture restoration, preserving and enhancing existing pieces. The program includes six weeks of practical woodshop experience, where students build and restore furniture, giving them a strong advantage when entering the job market.
